Photos from Day Two

After leaving Hope, the tour led towards Princeton, British Columbia. Along the way numerous animals presented themselves, and some of these animals were on two wheels.

The first three images are of the Columbian Ground Squirrels in Manning, Hundreds of these photogenic creatures roam the area, near a rest stop where we had our lunch.

Whether or not it is believable, there is a cyclist in this photo. This shows the scale of what the riders were up against. The cyclist in the photo is Murray, and can be located by a small red light/ grey jacket along the road.
During this stretch of the trip we came across snow. Further along we would encounter it at the roadside, and some riders would even face it as they rode through the mountains.
Wayne is pictured in this photo wearing one of the bright chartreuse cycling shirts for the Turn It Around Tour. Much of the road had steep drops along the side with no railing, and some of these sites even had washout.
One of the many deer that would be seen along the journey, this deer was in Princeton, British Columbia, and remained in the area alongside the highway for much of the afternoon. The deer are absolutely fearless of the cars and trucks, but will run from approaching cyclists.
